Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Cooked and cooled Quinoa

  • 1 small Onion

  • 1 small Bell Pepper seeded and diced

  • 1 cup Mushroom, finely chopped (Baby bella, Shitake, or white button)

  • 2-3 Garlic cloves minced or 1/2-1 tsp. garlic powder

  • 1 15oz. Can of cooked Black beans well rinsed and drained, slightly mash them

  • 1/2 cup Plant based flour (cocnut, almond, gluten free or gluten free Panko crumbs) for binder

  • 1 flax egg

  • 2-3 tbsp Liquid Smoke

  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric, Cumin

  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika

  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients in a bowl.

  • Make patties and place in a frying pan or 350 degrees oven for 20-25 minutes take out and flip over, place back in oven for another 10-15 minutes .

Notes

Flax Egg

Combine one tablespoon of flaxseed meal and 3 tablespoons of water, and allow to sit for about 5 minutes. Add this to your recipe just as you would an egg.

Spread or Dressing

1/2 cup vegan mayonnaise, 1-2 tablespoons hot sauce, and a squeeze of lemon juice. 

Serve on whole grain buns or atop mixed greens, lettuce with onions, pickles, and sliced tomatoes with desired toppings.
